Bar/Bat Mitzvah Approach

 

MSJE's approach to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah is a student-led event, emphasizing personalized preparation and support. 

 

While we don’t have a dedicated synagogue in which to hold the service, our families get creative with locations!  For example, past services have been held at the Bender JCC, hotel ballrooms, outdoor pavilions, and destinations.  We're also happy to provide location recommendations.

 

We have a torah, ark, and prayer books available to rent for the services (all materials generally fit in the back of a minivan).  We recommend both tutors and officiants, however, families are welcome to use whomever they prefer.
